The mission of the Northwestern State University Alumni Association is to promote the advancement of academic excellence by developing coalition among alumni, students, friends and the university community while supporting our university’s traditions, values, and future.


NSU Foundation

The Northwestern State University Foundation was established as a non-profit organization on May 20, 1960. The mission of the Northwestern State University Foundation is to serve the University, its students and its faculty, primarily through financial resources raised and distributed by the corporation.



ADVANCE is a three-week residential program that offers a challenging and rewarding curriculum for gifted and talented students entering grades 8 through 12. ADVANCE provides a unique learning environment designed to motivate and challenge academically gifted students and set them on a path toward a lifetime of high academic achievement (see academics). Students enroll in a single course for three weeks of in-depth study.

Cammie G. Henry Research Center

A closed-stack, non-circulating library and archive room located on the third floor of the Watson Memorial Library on NSU's Natchitoches campus.  Here the researcher will find Louisiana books, rare books, archival materials, NSU's archives, microfilm, maps, newspapers, and oral history tapes.

Louisiana Creole Heritage Center

To promote, foster, and engage in activities and endeavors that relate to Louisiana Creoles and their culture.

Louisiana Folklife Center

A research facility which coordinates the Natchitoches/NSU Folklife Festival and serves as an archival repository for many folklife materials.

A preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for high-ability students.  Established to foster lifelong growth toward reaching individual potentials and toward finding places of work and service in a global community of learners.
